Hi Lawrence. There's no doubt that lateral thinking is a precursor to smart advertising. Couple this with some hyper-personalized advertising and accurately crafted buyer personas, and you are certainly on your way to achieving an attractive return on advertising spend. You have definitely hit the nail on the head with regards to customer giveaways. Regardless of the content we are offering visitors, it must be high quality and add real value to the customer. Producing content with an inverse ratio of perceived-to-actual value is a thing of the past - shout out to the Panda Update. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts!

Smart advertising has no doubt been a thing that can bring in more customers, but sometimes one must be a little creative and innovative. You must know your audience and know how to market to them to effectively get the results that you wish for every dollar that you spend. Customized advertising can be a little more daunting, but it is a sure way to get more people intrested in what you have to offer. I think the most effective advertising is one where you can give something away for free and actually add value to someone’s life. They will then be you loyal customer in the future,

Hi Dev. Thanks for your comments. The data points to social media and mobile advertisement growth, so we are inclined to believe the same. I agree; there is a high probability of mobile advertising being 'the next big thing' as the trend is already moving that way. You just have to look at the digital media usage on mobile last year in the US to see this shift. With around 51% of media usage through mobile, marketers will need to get real about their approach towards targeting mobile users.

What we need to do as marketers, is collectively work to ensure our advertisements, for the majority, are hitting relevant audiences with useful information. If we can do this, users won't feel inclined to block our content.

We are yet to see much of an impact caused by various web browsers. Perhaps you would be interested in doing a write up to post alongside an upcoming Living Online blog?

Social media and mobile advertisement platform are going to grow further. Mobile advertising is going to be the next big thing as I see a huge change in the platform. Desktop usage is slowing down. It would be also interesting to see how ad blockers are going to affect the digital marketing and advertisement.

UC browser and opera mini are giving nightmare to the digital marketers and advertisers already.
